BSS/MUDs/newsgroups

But first! To access BBSes/MUDs, you need a terminal. I personally use SyncTERM. (here's a tutorial, you'll need it!)

Telnet BBS guide: Has lists of different BBSes.

TinyTIM: One of the first MUDs that's still up. Really fun.

Particles! BBS: Old BBS running on Commodore equipment. I occasionally visit this BBS.

buttonless websites/other links

virustotal: this website allows you to scan your files with many antivirus/antimalware programs. especially good if you go to sketchy sites like I do.

Valve Archive: An archive of assets from Valve games.

Txtify: Converts crappy news articles and makes them readable.

What Does My Site Cost?: Tells you how much your website costs to access. No real use, but still interesting.

Newgrounds creator resources: Amazing list of useful resources/tutorials for creators. Has recommendations for stuff you have to buy to use, but most are free.

Adobe archive: Archive for old, unsupported versions of adobe products. Currently only has versions of flash, though.

Curlie: Successor of one of the largest website directories on the web. This is how people found websites without the help of a search engine.

Funday Pawpet Show: One of the oldest internet tv shows.

ReactOS: A project to create a Windows clone. Still in very very veeery development, but I would keep an eye on this if you use programs developed for windows only (and you don't want to learn another OS)

Original DOOM Shareware: A link to every single version of the DOOM shareware episode. I recommend version 1.1 myself. You need some way to read DOS, cause this is a older windows game.

Open Game Art: Game assets relased under Creative Commons/Public domain. Use it a lot.

Electric Frontier Foundation (EFF): Deadicated to Free speech and Privacy on the internet, AKA human rights.

Archive Team: Really amazing people prezerving the internet. Also provide a tool to help with their efforts.

GUI Gallery: Gallery/museum of computer OSes. I love looking through here from time to time.

The Mary Sue: Fandom news site. Also has articles about queer people/anti queer people ruining the world. Mostly fandom related stuff though.

crackmes.one: A way of practicing your cracking skills legally.

Solo Adventurer's Toolbox automation: a way to play solo dnd (by yourself)

Phoenix html code editor: Online code editor. Really good if you have a chromebook or something similar.

Space Email: a place to send emails to strangers. I sent a few.

The musical time machine: lets you listen to what the radio sounded like in different places at different times.
